Description:

General: Wonderful basil with a stronger, spicy flavor, similar to cloves. Glossy dark green leaves and purple flowers. Goes well with Thai and Vietnamese cuisine.

Culinary Uses: Stands up to cooking better than sweet basil. Lots of peppery, anise- like and warm spicy flavors in this herb.

Ornamental Uses: Flat and blade shaped foliage with a purplish tinge that can spread over the entire leaf depending on the exact variety. The leaves are about half the size of sweet basil.
