General: Thick-stalked onion relative with a mild sweet onion flavor. Leeks are a great addition to soups and stews.

Culinary Uses: This vegetable can be eaten fresh, grilled, sauteed, and added to soups and stews.

Ornamental Uses: An onion relative that has compact stems that thicken but do not form bulbs, like onions. The King Richard variety produces extra long white stems. It is cold tolerant and can be left in the garden to fall for an extended harvest.
