General: Dense mound of more narrow, light green leaves with very distinct spearmint fragrance and flavor. Traditionally used for lamb sauce and julep. Spearmint will grow in almost any soil type, provided ample moisture and sunlight.

Medicinal Uses: Spearmint has significant levels of iron, manganese, calcium, and magnesium as well as vitamin A and C, folate, and fiber. It can help protect the throat and teeth against bacterial infections, aids in digestion and gives relief from stress. Spearmint prevents anemia and improves blood circulation, help to percent morning sickness, nausea, and vomiting during pregnancy.

Ornamental Uses: Spearmint is an herbaceous plant with a square-shaped stem, broad leaves and white-pink flowers. The leaves are the true value of the spearmint as they contain many of the active ingredients and a high concentration of the scent and flavor.
